So I am still getting used to this whole winter thing. I thought I had it all down, gloves, beanie, down jacket, etc… that is, until I had to photograph ice rescue training at night.
Taking place on a frozen lake, it basically involved a firefighter in a dry suit jumping into a freshly cut hole in the ice. Another firefighter would jump in afterwards and the two would be pulled out by a crew on the dock some yards away.
It also involved me on the ice in my pumas and without long johns. Lesson learned.
