We asked elementary school students in Caesar Rodney School District what it means to be kind during Kindness Week February 2020. Their perspective went a long way in reminding our team how we should treat our fellow Delawareans as COVID lockdowns began a month later. Parents as Teachers participant Krystal Black shares how the program has affected her life. From being in active addiction while homeless and pregnant with her first child, to having an apartment of her own with a support system of caring, early education professionals. I accompanied News Journal reporter Jeff Mordock on a week-long assignment in Parkersburg, West Virginia where we spoke to residents, local officials and former DuPont employees on the affects of C8 and PFOAs on the health and well-being of the community. Their stories were weaved together into a video that previewed the project. Video Editing/Production On June 23, 2011, former pediatrician Earl Bradley was convicted on 14 counts of rape, seven counts of assault, and three counts of sexual exploitation of a child. Five years later, News Journal reporters and photographers examined the lasting impacts of Bradley’s actions. In my role as video content strategist, I helped to plan and execute the video storytelling and took those separate video assets and combined them into a cohesive narrative.
